Nature shows us how:
Plant parts, leaves and other organic material form a protective coat and thus ensure healthy soil. You can also make use of this principle in your own garden: Mulch mowing is not only a particularly environmentally friendly method, it also saves lawn lovers time and money on maintenance.
Opinions often differ among gardening enthusiasts when it comes to mulching. Many refrain from mulching because they would rather have their garden free of any grass clippings. However, mulching is a very time-saving and convenient alternative to traditional catching, as there is no need to dispose of the clippings. When mulching, the blades of grass are finely shredded. The grass particles fall back into the turf and naturally form fertilizer for the lawn. This closes the nutrient cycle. At the same time, over-fertilization is prevented – the nutrients are gradually released into the soil. The addition of expensive fertilizer can thus be significantly reduced.
